Hello there and welcome to my newest blogging excursion, Pink Toast blog.
About Amanda.
I’m Amanda.
I’m a 29 year old student, future educator, cat mom and feminist who loves pink, baking, peanut butter toast who is engaged to be married in 2017.
I’ve been blogging since 2010. Before social media was really a thing, but after the movie Julie + Julia came out that made everyone want to be a food blogger.
And that’s what I was for a good 5-6 years. A food and fitness blogger at Diary of a Semi-Health Nut. (link to the blog below) I met a lot of awesome people, learned a lot about writing online, branding, what not to do when writing a blog, and even made some money in the process.
About Pink Toast Blog.
I eventually felt constricted by the words “health nut” in my blog (even though they were preceded by the word “semi”). I felt a disconnect from what other health bloggers were doing and even started to feel a twinge of food guilt slash obsessive working out and eating. No bueno for me or blog readers.
I still wanted a place to share my journey of becoming a 30 something “adult,” eating food, and chatting about whatever comes into my brain.
After a lot of angst (and months), I decided instead of rebranding, I would just start over on a clean slate. I left the old blog as a sort of time capsule in my life and as a resource for those who come across my recipes on pinterest or searches because I am still very proud of a lot of my posts.
The Name Pink Toast Blog.
I thought the name pink toast was super cute. (note: I say things like “super cute.”)
I had been feeling this internal conflict between being a feminist and wanting to be feminine. I eventually decided that I can be a feminist and like the color pink (or whatever color I want to like).
I also eat toast almost every single morning and have been before it was a cool thing to do. I don’t put weird things on my toast like those Instagrammers (yet), but I do put globs of peanut butter on top and my day feels incomplete without it.
The pink symbolizes my feminine side (and possible rebellious feminist side?) and the toast represents toasting to life and food. I love food.
I sincerely hope you stick around and join in the conversations here on Pink Toast Blog. This wouldn’t be a thing without readers like YOU.
