Intentions is just a trendy word for goals, right? Except for some reason they seem less intimidating.
Or is that just me?
I want to write these posts because there’s something about putting things out there on the internet that makes you feel the need to be accountable.
And of course you can always join in and share an intention or two so we can hold each other accountable!
Setting Intentions for March 2017
-Post a recipe on the blog.
I used to write recipe posts all the time..like once a week (on my old blog)! I started expanding on the reasoning and my feelings on the subject, but I quickly realized I had enough to say for another post..so I will save it. For now, I have a goal of working on and posting a recipe this month. And that’s progress.
-Going the full length of my long runs.
I’ve been pretty good about this, but I feel like this is the most important part of getting through the half marathon—just being able to go the miles!
-Shadowing and learning more about being the President of NE STEM!
I am still pretty dang surprised I was chosen and very nervous because I still feel like a newbie, so I want to just absorb all that I can. That’s not super specific, but I will say it’s a priority. [read more= “CLICK to read more. //”]
-Getting my blog ish fixed.
This isn’t something I have complete control over right now, but my old blog has been having domain issues and it’s crazy frustrating. I registered my domain through Blogger a long time ago supposedly through GoDaddy, except for GoDaddy can’t access it and points me towards this Google admin site (where I’ve never set up an account so never had a login) so it’s this endless loop of nothing getting done until it expired.
To make matters worse–whenever I talk to a support person about the issue, 90% of the time they are super condescending. Like I could have somehow known 5 years ago this might happen. Or, “Blogger and Google are the same thing. *Winky face*” No. Don’t winky face at me when I’ve been having issues trying to figure this out for years. It’s NOT the same login. Gah!
Previously it renewed with my old credit card, but since my purse was stolen, that card is invalid so the issue caught up with me. I had to let my blog expire, be down for a MONTH (and counting) and now I’m currently bidding on my own domain.
Hopefully I get it!
I feel like potentially I will have 6 years of blogging work and tons of recipes (!!) down the drain, so I’m a tad nervous.
Other than that domain issue, I’m also working on consolidating, simplifying and prioritizing blogs and social media. I’ve done pretty well with the social media, but it’s tough saying goodbye to blogs.
-No more Sims on weekdays.
Guys, it’s gotten bad. If you read my last gold stars and demerits post, you’ll know that every few months or so I get addicted to Sims to the point where it’s all I want to do when I get up.
This means I also have to…
-Have something to look forward to
when getting up on days I don’t have early appointments (or class or work). This might mean chocolate chips on my toast or letting myself read blogs for an hour. I feel like browsing the internet even is more productive than playing video games.
This morning I read a book with breakfast instead, so that’s a start!
I do understand the need for rest, that’s why I want to try for…
-Pampering once a week.
This is something like taking a bath or actually doing my nails or foam rolling or reading a good book… I don’t think this should be something to do with food—I view that as a treat. I want to make sure I’m doing something healthy with this goal since I already have the potential of adding chocolate to my breakfast.
-Yoga twice a week.
If I don’t make it to the class, do some yoga or stretching at home. This will really help support my half marathon training. And my sanity!
I think that’s a good enough list for now!
So tell me…
Do you have any intentions for this month?
Did you set New Year’s resolutions this year? I don’t think I did for the first time in years…and I’m kind of okay with it!

Great intentions!! I have some too except I’ve been thinking about it for the week not a whole month, haha. My life is kind of up-in-the-air right now so I only think a week ahead. I want to brush my hair more (lol sounds absurd but when you have super curly hair you can’t brush it everyday but then if you go too long it gets like birds nest), brush my dogs hair, train my dog on some new tricks, eat more vegetables, and run!
